Course Description
This Pre-AP Biology course is designed for motivated 7th and 8th grade students who
are interested in taking the A2 virtual high school biology course during the summer,
testing out of high school biology by the end of 8th grade, or who have a general
interest in life science.
The primary goal of Pre-AP Biology is to build a strong foundation in biological concepts
and scientific thinking. This foundation prepares students for advanced coursework in
life sciences, including AP Biology and college-level biomedicine courses. Additionally,
the course supports students who aspire to participate in Biology Olympiad
competitions, conduct biomedical research projects, or pursue a future career in
healthcare.

胡江 Jiang Hu Biography
Dr. Jiang Hu earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Beijing Normal University and his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He continued his interdisciplinary biomedical research career at the University of Michigan. Dr. Hu is passionate about teaching high school biology, tutoring students for Biology Olympiad preparation, and mentoring students in biomedical research.
胡博士本科毕业于北京师范大学生物学专业，后获得中国科学院生物医学工程博士学位。他随后在密歇根大学继续从事跨学科生物医学研究工作。胡博士热衷于高中生物学教学，辅导学生备战生物奥林匹克竞赛，并指导学生开展生物医学研究。
