Math Olympiad Level 1

Math Olympiad Level 1 is designed to extend the mathematical skills of rising 4th to 6th graders to prepare them for MOEMS, Math Kangaroo, Gauss7, AMC8 and some other elementary - middle school math competitions. This course mainly covers MOMES-E, Math Kangaroo grade 4/5/6, Pre-AMC, AMC 8 Problems 1-15, Gauss 7 Problems 1-20, and Mathcounts School Sprint level curriculum. Students explore various math topics, including number sense, number theory, counting, probability, pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry. Students will learn to apply multiple problem-solving strategies while completing contest-style problems.

Class Description
潘文沁 Wenqin Pan Biography
My name is Wenqin (Wendy) Pan (潘文沁). I am major in mathematics (BS) and biostatistics (PhD). I just moved to Ann Arbor this past summer and this will be my first year teaching Math Olympiads at Ann-Hua Chinese School. Previously, I taught this course at Chapel Hill Chinese School (NC) for six years (two rounds). I also had some experience teaching fun math to younger students and AMC10 to more advanced students.
