Course Description

课程简介(Course Overview )
Math 2A is designed to provide students the foundation that is needed for success in
Algebra I and future math subjects.
Problem solving teaches students to think when engaging in a task for which the
solution method is not known in advance. Students will learn to explore and analyze,
think creatively, implement accurately, model and generalize. Problem solving ability
will also help students develop profound understandings of mathematic concepts and

Class Description

Jan Gombert Jan Gombert Biography

I have taught high school and college level mathematics for ten years in a variety of settings, from England to Honolulu to Detroit. I have also spent much of my life as a manager, designer, and developer in three different software startup companies, creating products in computer graphics, education, and medical monitoring. My work has taught me that the value of a good mathematics education goes far beyond the ability to do well on your SAT and get into college – it gives you the ability to think hard and solve all sorts of problems in the real world.

That is what I am driven to teach – how to think and solve problems. My commitment to Ann-Hua Chinese School is to give my students those same gifts that were given to me.
