Mr. Zhu is very passionate about high school STEM education and experienced in coaching
students with the AP exam study materials. His students have scored 5 in the AP Calculus BC,
AP Physics Mechanics, AP Statistics, AP Physics E&M, and AP Computer Science A exams.
He has volunteered and been actively involved in many math competitions in the past years. He
outlined the competition strategy and prepared the students with the competition rules to assist
the middle school to win the team 2 nd place in the Michigan state MATHCOUNT competition.
He organized a very young Ann Arbor math team to participate in the HMMT (Harvard MIT Math
Tournament) and PUMAC (The Princeton University Mathematics Competition) Math
competitions.
He was a parent volunteer and served as the team coach of the Michigan All-
Stars Math team in the last two years. The All-Stars team that he lead has rewritten the
Michigan Math competition history by winning so many national awards.
He was invited by the Michigan Section of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) as a coach
to lead the highly selected Michigan Math teams to participate in the American Regions
Mathematics League competition.
